Our Events

We gather on the second Monday of each month (February to November) at 11.45am for a 12 noon start to listen to a speaker and enjoy lunch at the Hamilton Golf Club, in St Andrews.

We welcome guests of members and just ask for $30 to cover the cost of a guest’s lunch.

Please let us know if you are coming, and if you are bringing a guest, by 10am on the Friday prior to our meetings so we can confirm catering numbers.

Upcoming speaker events

8 June 2026 - Marie McIntyre, Civil Engineer and wastewater consultant

Marie McIntyre

Marie McIntyre is a Waikato-based civil engineer and project manager who is addressing Awatere on the importance of wastewater treatment in protecting our lives and our environment.

Originally from Awakeri in the Bay of Plenty, Marie has more than 10 years' experience in delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Waikato region. She has worked extensively on large-scale infrastructure planning, environmental consenting, and wastewater treatment plant upgrades, with a particular focus on projects that combine technical, environmental, community, and cultural outcomes alongside councils, communities, and mana whenua.

For the past eight years, Marie has been heavily involved in the Cambridge Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade project - a major long-term infrastructure investment focussed on improving river health, environmental outcomes, and partnership-based delivery though a co-designed consenting approach.
